Associated "wind" energy and Azeri gas in Moldova

This is reported by departmental resources of Azerbaijan and Moldova after the meeting of energy ministers of both countries yesterday within the framework of the 12th ministerial meeting of the Advisory Council of the Southern Gas Corridor in Baku.

Energy Minister Dorin Jungietu discussed with his Azerbaijani counterpart Parviz Shahbazov “strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the field of natural gas, development of regional demand”. They also discussed cooperation opportunities in the context of the ongoing liberalization of the gas market in Moldova.

Dorin Jungietu invited Azerbaijani companies to participate in the tender for the construction of 170 MW wind farms with energy storage systems (BESS), aimed at increasing the flexibility of the energy system and developing cooperation within the national system’s transition to green transition.

In the context of the restructuring of European gas markets and the green transition, the parties emphasized the crucial role of “infrastructure development, regulatory coordination and regional partnerships to ensure long-term security of supply.” Naturally, they discussed partnership not only in RES, but also in the gas sector, including LNG purchases and participation in the Caspian-Black Sea-Europe corridor, Caliber.Az writes.
