According to ANTA, the majority of the offences concerned the illegal provision of road transport services and related activities. Inspectors issued 91 penalty notices totalling around 740,000 lei for carrying out transport operations without being registered in the operators’ register and for operating as a taxi without the required equipment.

A further 71 reports, totalling around 265,000 lei, were issued for breaches of the rules governing the carriage of passengers and goods. Key offences included the absence of mandatory documents, exceeding permissible weight or axle loads, deviations from timetables, and drivers’ failure to comply with working and rest periods.

In addition, the agency’s staff recorded 24 instances of the carriage of oversized, heavy and dangerous goods without the necessary permits, and issued 17 fines totalling nearly 43,000 lei for putting vehicles on the road without having passed a roadworthiness test, failure to issue tickets or receipts to passengers, and failure to comply with inspectors’ instructions.
