On this occasion, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu sent a congratulatory message to the American people, in which he highlighted the partnership between the Republic of Moldova and the United States.

“Step by step, we have built roads, modernized schools and kindergartens, expanded access to water supply and sanitation, and taken important steps to strengthen our energy independence and democratic institutions. For the Republic of Moldova, the United States is a reliable friend who stands by us when we need it most,” noted Igor Grosu.

On July 4, 1776, the United States of America adopted the Declaration of Independence. This document laid the foundation for the American nation.

Diplomatic relations between Moldova and the United States were officially established on February 28, 1992. In March 1992, the United States opened its embassy in Chisinau, and Moldova opened its mission in Washington, D.C., in December of that same year.
