According to the Chisinau City Administration, sidewalk repairs and landscaping of green spaces have begun there. The repairs will be carried out in phases to avoid inconvenience to residents and traffic restrictions, which will be temporarily suspended.
The work is being carried out as part of a project to renovate the areas adjacent to Veronika Mikle Street. The project aims to create a safe and comfortable public space for pedestrians.
Work is also continuing on the rehabilitation of Yuri Gagarin Boulevard. Currently, municipal services are upgrading the storm drainage system, which carries water away during rainfall. In addition, they are repairing and installing additional storm drains to collect stormwater.
One side of the boulevard has already been repaired; work is now continuing on the opposite side.
As was the case when repairs on this important section first began, most of the work is being carried out at night to minimize disruption to local residents and road users.
Repairs to the roadway, reinforcement of the road base, and laying of the base layer of asphalt have already been completed. In the near future, the final layer of asphalt will be laid and road markings will be applied.
