
The discussion focused on digital technologies, climate risk monitoring, and modern support systems for the agricultural sector. Moldova was represented at the forum by Andrian Digolyan, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA), Andrian Digolyan, along with representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Moldova and the State Hydrometeorological Service.
The forum brought together representatives from governments, international organizations, research institutions, and the business sector to discuss the use of digital technologies, data analysis, and innovative solutions for developing competitive, sustainable, and environmentally focused agri-food systems.
Development of Digital Monitoring
As part of the conference, the Moldovan delegation held working meetings with the FAO Deputy Director-General and Regional Representative Viorel Gutsu, as well as with specialists from relevant departments responsible for land and water resource management, investments, geospatial technologies, and drought and climate monitoring.
Particular attention was paid to early warning systems and the Agricultural Stress Index System (ASIS) platform, which uses satellite data to monitor the impact of drought on crops.
According to MAIA, participation in the conference provided an opportunity to discuss the further development of cooperation in the areas of digital agricultural monitoring, climate risk management, and the implementation of modern information services for Moldovan farmers.
