Moldova ranks 60th in the world in terms of electricity prices

On average, the cost of a kilowatt-hour of electricity in Moldova between 2023 and 2026 was $0.177. This figure ranks our country 60th in the world (out of 145 countries surveyed).

Overall, Bermuda has the world’s highest residential electricity prices—$0.466 per kWh—while Iran has the lowest—just $0.003.

Households in the most expensive markets pay more than 150 times as much for electricity as those in the cheapest markets.

Europe and fuel-importing island nations lead the ranking of the highest prices. Ireland, Italy, Germany, Belgium, and the United Kingdom are among the top ten most expensive countries in the world in this regard.

In Romania, the average price was $0.212 per kWh—ranking 43rd. In Ukraine, it was $0.083—ranking 105th. In Russia, the price was $0.068, ranking 111th. Right next to it, in 102nd place with a price of $0.085, is Belarus, which receives cheap energy resources from Russia as part of “energy blackmail.”
