
The reorganization became necessary in the context of the entry into force of a comprehensive legislative package, including the Public Procurement Act, regulations on procurement in the energy and postal sectors, and new provisions on concessions for works and services.
Under the project, the agency will assume expanded functions, including: oversight of works and services concessions, administrative cooperation and information exchange with EU member states, and management of the e-Certis online archive and other databases key to procurement transparency.
According to the explanatory note to the project, the increase of the staff by 7 units will entail additional financial costs of about 257.2 thousand lei per month.
The draft is subject to examination and approval by the cabinet of ministers.
