
Moldova’s creative sector is highly dynamic: between 2020 and 2023, the turnover of creative industries increased by 58%, from 3 billion lei to more than 4.84 billion lei. At the same time, the number of employees increased by 5%. The areas with the highest growth are exhibitions and fairs (+806%), specialized design (+238%), public relations (+60%), video games (+25%), and advertising (+20%).
Before Pandemic 2020, the total turnover of creative industries fluctuated between MDL 2.2-2.8 billion.
The central theme of FIC 2026 is declared to be the concept of “Feelings”, which emphasizes the physical perception of art and live emotions. Panel discussions and conferences will be attended by specialized Moldovan specialists and foreign experts. Each day of the festival is dedicated to a different area – game design, animation, music, art, media and public policy.
One of the key topics of discussion will be the development of creative industries and their contribution to the country’s economy.
Also, within the framework of the festival, the National Museum of Arts of Moldova will open the first in the country exhibition of original works of the American graphic designer Milton Glaser “Milton Glaser: art is work”, creator of the logo “I love NY”.
It should be noted that FIC 2025 was held under the theme “Rethinking”. At that time, the focus was on the economic and social potential of the creative industries.
