This was reported by him in an interview with BBC News.

According to the president, such a move is seen as a possible “diplomatic measure” in response to further violations.

“This is a warning to the Russian side and I hope they will stop doing this. Otherwise, we have other measures we can take,” Dan said, adding that among such measures was the possible expulsion of the ambassador.

Earlier, the Romanian authorities had already declared persona non grata the consul general of Russia in Constanta Andrei Kosilin. The Romanian Foreign Ministry also summoned Russian Ambassador Vladimir Lipayev after the drone incident.

The incident occurred on the night of May 29, when, according to Romanian authorities, a drone crashed into an apartment building in the town of Galati near the border with Ukraine. As a result, a fire broke out in an apartment on the tenth floor, about 70 people were evacuated and two people were injured.

The Russian embassy said it viewed the incident as a provocation by Kiev. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that Moscow’s response to Bucharest’s actions “will not be long in coming”.
