Poland is arguing over a new minimum wage. The price of the question?

Polish authorities continue to negotiate with trade unions and patronages on a new minimum wage. The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Protection has submitted a report according to which the minimum will be 4,927 zloty (1,161 euros) from the beginning of 2027. This is significantly higher than the previously discussed amount. And it is important, as the "minimum wage" affects social benefits.

Negotiations on raising the minimum wage in Poland began this month. Initially, employers proposed a new “minimum wage” of 4,869 zlotys (1,148 euros), while labor unions requested 4,900 zlotys (1,155 euros). To resolve the dispute, the unions sought arbitration with the aforementioned ministry. The ministry proposed its own version, which will be the basis for further negotiations. If the parties fail to reach an agreement by July 15, the government will make a decision – by September 15 this year, writes in-poland.

At the moment, its level in the country is 4806 zloty gross per month (1133 euros), or 31 zloty gross (7.6 euros) hourly.
