Moldova in Brussels discussed justice reform and the rule of law

The protection of fundamental rights, combating hate speech and bias crimes, as well as the implementation of the Roadmap for the Rule of Law were discussed in Brussels during the 10th meeting of the EU-Moldova Sub-Committee on Justice, Freedom and Security.

It is a platform for dialog dedicated to monitoring the progress made by our country in the European integration process. Moldova was represented at the meeting by the Inspectorate General of Police.

The information from the ISU stressed that the discussions analyzed the actions undertaken by Moldova in the field of justice reform, internal affairs and strengthening the rule of law, in line with the commitments undertaken under Chapters 23 and 24 of the European legislation.

The representative of Moldova provided information on progress in strengthening the institutional and operational capacity of the police, with a focus on combating organized and cross-border crime, international police cooperation and prevention of drug trafficking.
