Employment services helped place over 8,000 job seekers in Moldova

Employment services helped more than 8,000 citizens find jobs

Since the beginning of 2026, 8,059 job seekers have been assisted in finding a job through the territorial employment units of the National Employment Agency (ANOFM). Of these, 2,333 are unemployed (28.9%) and 105 are unemployed casual workers or unemployed employed for a fixed period of up to 3 months.

“Employment services continue to develop so that more and more job seekers have access to employment support. The goal remains the same – to integrate as many people as possible into the labor market in the coming years through active measures adapted to everyone’s needs,” said Natalia Plugaru, head of the ministry.

Of the total number of employed people, 39.7% are women (3,203), 20.0% are people aged 55 and older (1,611), 1.7% are people with disabilities (137), 0.3% are migrants who returned from abroad (26) and 15 are Roma. Employment was mainly in collective, social and personal services (34.2%), followed by agriculture (17.3%), wholesale and retail trade (15.5%), industry (9.0%), public administration (6.2%), construction (3.9%), health and social assistance (4.3%), education (3.2%), transportation, storage and communication (2.6%).

The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection aims to support the employment of 25,000 job seekers in 2026. In 2025, more than 20,000 people were employed through the National Employment Agency, an increase of 20% compared to 2024.
