
According to (rounded) IMF data, Moldova’s GDP in 2026 will reach $22 billion, which will be a 0% share in the world. At the same time, our country ranks 134th in the world in terms of gross domestic product.
The fact is that half of the world GDP is accounted for by only four countries.
The U.S., China, Germany, and Japan together produce over $63 trillion in output – about as much as the rest of the world combined.
Not far behind Japan are countries such as the UK, India and France. Italy, Russia and Brazil round out the top ten.
Romania is in 39th place with a GDP of $481 billion and a share of 0.4%. Ukraine is in 57th position with a GDP of $225 bln and a 0.2% share.
And starting from 96th place (Zimbabwe occupies it), the share of all the following states, and there are 100 of them, is, like Moldova, 0%.
