Meeting between Sergiu Gerciu and Ilhama Gadimova

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry Sergiu Gerciu is in the Republic of Azerbaijan to participate in the 19th International Agricultural Exhibition “Caspian Agro Week” and the 31st International Exhibition of Food Industry “InterFood Azerbaijan”.

The program of the visit includes bilateral meetings with officials and representatives of the agri-food sector of this country. During his participation in the exhibitions in Baku, Sergiu Gerciu has already held a bilateral meeting with Ilhama Gadimova, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

They discussed the digitalization of agriculture, the use of artificial intelligence in the agro-industrial sector, irrigation and water management, as well as attracting investors to the agro-food sector.

Another topic of the meeting was cooperation in viticulture. The sides discussed Moldova’s experience in the winemaking sector, Azerbaijan’s interest in the development of winemaking, as well as opportunities to exchange experience in the field of technology, quality and promotion of products.
