NATO has made a “big mistake”

US President Donald Trump has said he is "very disappointed" with NATO because the alliance has not helped the US in its war with Iran.

“I have always said that NATO is a paper tiger,” he said.

“If there’s ever a big conflict, I guarantee they won’t be there,” Trump added, probably referring to a possible World War III.

“NATO countries have done absolutely nothing to help the insane, now militarily destroyed country of Iran. The U.S. needs nothing from NATO, but ‘never forget’ this extremely important point!” he wrote on the Truth Social media network.

“They made a big mistake – they weren’t there,” he stated.

Trump separately mentioned French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, calling them his “friends,” but criticized them for saying Iran is not their war.

“Well, Ukraine is not our war either, but we helped them,” the US president said.
