The car mileage limit was increased by 2,000 km per year for chiefs of territorial offices and by 3,000 km for their deputies.

The corresponding resolution was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.

The changes are related to the increased activity of officials in the context of the reform of local authorities. They are aimed at increasing the efficiency of work and improving the organization of official travel.

“To be close to the people and to local elected representatives in this important process of transformation,” explained Alexei Buzu, Secretary General of the Government.

The implementation of the innovations will require additional expenses of about 200 thousand lei. These funds will be provided from the budgetary allocations of the State Chancellery.

We shall remind you that in 2026, the State Chancellery received 943.5 million lei from the state budget, which is almost 60 per cent more than last year. The main part of the budget goes to public services: execution of government decisions – 187.9 million lei, support for the government’s activity – 234.6 million lei, digitalization of governance – 273.6 million lei, reform of the state administration – 170 million lei, etc.
