The candidacy of 49-year-old Arleta was approved by the coaches’ committee of the Moldovan Football Federation (FMF). The final decision should be made by February 8, when the international tournament “Perushtitsa Futsal Cup” will start in Plovdiv (Bulgaria). The Moldovan national team received an invitation from the organizers.
During his coaching career, Vasile Arlet has led many futsal and beach soccer clubs. In 2014-2019, he was the head coach of the Moldovan national beach soccer team. Previously he was a professional footballer, playing in the National Division with the capital’s clubs Unisport-Auto, Agro, Politehnica, he also played for Sheriff and Iskra-Stal (Ribnita). He was also attracted by futsal clubs who saw him as both a coach and a field player.
In friendly matches against Armenia, Georgia and Kyrgyzstan in December 2025, Arlet replaced Vusatii, who was absent due to health reasons. In none of the three matches did the Moldovan national team manage to win.
Vladimir Vusatii led the national futsal team since March 5, 2010. Under his leadership, the team played more than 150 matches. In parallel, he headed the youth (U-19) and youth (U-21) national teams. Among the merits of the 71-year-old specialist should be emphasized the victories of the national team in international tournaments in Germany, Poland, Lithuania and the exit to the second round of qualifying tournaments for the World and European Championships.
