The Moldovan Ministry of Education and Science believes that this growth is due to the increase in salaries in higher education institutions, as well as to the national campaign “Study in Moldova”, initiated by the ministry, within the framework of which secondary school graduates were encouraged to continue their studies at the country’s universities.

Minister Dan Perciun said: “In 2025, we managed to reach the indicator of 6 out of 10 12th grade graduates who chose to stay in Moldova. In 2024, we started with 5 out of 10, so this is a significant increase, and the strategic goal remains unchanged: by 2028-2029, 7 out of 10 12th grade graduates should choose Moldova as a place of study”.
