This conclusion was reached by the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Eugeniu Osmochescu, who refers to the Product Market Regulations report (a methodology of the World Bank and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development).
“The report shows that we are making significant progress in reforms. And we in Moldova are significantly above the average level of the countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the European Union member states in assessing the impact of regulation,” the minister said.
“Certainly, we need to work more on ex post analysis: when a law has already been implemented for a certain period – for example, five years – it will have to be reviewed and its effectiveness will have to be assessed,” Osmochescu added.
The other day, in an interview with the state agency Moldpres, the minister said that thanks to the implementation of large-scale economic reforms, exports to the EU countries already reach 70% of the total volume, which demonstrates the efficiency of the ongoing transformations.
“The process of European integration in recent years has led to a noticeable acceleration in the modernization of the national economy. We have achieved the greatest success in strengthening the legislative framework harmonized with the EU acquis, in reducing administrative barriers and in the digitalization of public services, so that businesses can interact with the state quickly and efficiently,” Eugeniu Osmochescu stressed.
In his opinion, it is further important to implement projects aimed at ensuring predictability for business in the future, including after Moldova’s accession to the European Union.
