The decree establishes a number of emergency measures for the period of the Emergency Emergency Period. These include, among others, prioritization of priority financing of measures to ensure the preservation of life and health of citizens.
The regional government notes that the temporary measures are due to the restriction of natural gas supplies. The authorities are implementing a set of measures to stabilize the situation. The priority is to provide the population with heat and hot water. In conditions of resource shortage, gas supply for the industrial sector has been temporarily reduced.
This is the third time that Transnistria is in a state of emergency in the economy. From October 2022 to April 2023, a similar special legal regime was in effect due to a sharp decrease in the volume of natural gas supplies to Transnistria from Russia. The economic emergency regime was introduced again in December 2024, when the region was on the verge of a complete cessation of gas supplies, and was in effect until August 31, 2025.
