Interest in working professions is growing: schools are 80% full

In the 2025-2026 school year, there is a growing demand for secondary vocational education and a high occupancy rate. This is partly due to the demand for working specialties and simplified enrollment on the basis of a secondary education certificate. The occupancy rate was more than 80% of available places in 81 educational institutions (vocational schools, colleges and centers of excellence).

Vocational education is becoming more and more popular among young people, as the enrollment statistics show. Some schools (e.g. Vocational School No. 2) exceeded the enrollment plan this year.

The dual programs combining theory and practice at the enterprise are in particular demand, which increases the chances of employment in in-demand working specialties. Compared to the 2024/25 academic year, the number of students enrolled in vocational training increased by 30% and dual education by 18%.

The most in-demand occupations remain: auto mechanic (11.0% of the total number of enrollees), cook (9.8%), confectioner (4.2%), welder-assembler (4.1%), tiler (3.9%), seamstress in light industry (3.5%), data entry, checking and processing operator (2.9%), plasterer (2.3%), auto electrician-electronics technician (2.2%).

In 2025, 5.1 thousand people became graduates of secondary vocational schools, which is 8% more than in the previous year. Of the total number of graduates, the largest number of young specialists qualified in the following fields: engineering and production activities (37.1%), manufacturing industry (18.0%), architecture and construction (12.5%), and services (15.3%).
