The relevant amendment to Law No. 221/2007, among eight dozen legislative acts, was adopted by the last Parliament at its last plenary session.

At present, in compliance with the legislative innovation, the amendments to the ANSA regulations (GD No. 14/2023) have been drafted and will be submitted for public consultation.

Initially, at the time of its creation, ANSA was subordinated to a line ministry, but was subsequently transferred to the Cabinet of Ministers. The idea to re-subordinate this important state agency back to the MAIA Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry has been discussed over the past few years, and had both supporters and opponents. However, the fact of this decision was almost unnoticed by many specialized organizations of agricultural producers.

Only members of individual organizations of the livestock sector voiced their negative attitude to this decision. In their opinion, the reassignment of ANSA to the sectoral ministry can be interpreted as a downgrading of the status of this important agency.
