The press office of the Bureau for European Integration said the reconciliation on Chapter 33, Financial and Budgetary Provisions, was the last to be finalized.
The bilateral screening sessions took place between July 2024 and September 2025 in Chisinau, Luxembourg and Brussels.
In a special video message, European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos welcomed the completion of such an important stage in Moldova’s EU accession process. At the same time, she urged the Moldovan authorities to continue reforms and modernization of the country. She recalled that the next step for Moldova will be the opening of the first negotiation cluster entitled “EU Accession Framework”, which will focus on issues such as the rule of law, good governance and fundamental rights.
“This will strengthen our cooperation and speed up Moldova’s EU accession process. But the work does not end there. The task is clear. To build on the success achieved, to continue reforms, to harmonize national legislation with European legislation and to develop democratic institutions. In this way, you will build the future you deserve. Now it is crucial to maintain this momentum,” Marta Kos said.
The relevant parliamentary commissions responded promptly to the completion of the screening with the EU by approving on September 23 the advisory opinions on the Negotiating Positions on the three key clusters in the European Union accession process: “Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth”, “Green Agenda and Sustainable Connectivity” and “Resources, Agriculture and Cohesion”.
