The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection reports monthly on overfulfillment of last year’s schedule of employment of citizens. Of the total number of employed, 4,954 are unemployed (33%). The rest include part-time workers, part-time employees and people who simply wanted to change jobs. Almost one third are applicants from rural areas. People from different social strata of society apply to the state employment services: from people who have lost their jobs to migrant workers who have returned home. The services of the state agency are free of charge for all.
“As I have always said, a stable job is the best form of social protection,” said Minister of Labor and Social Protection Alexei Buzu. – Last year we helped nearly 17,000 citizens find jobs, and this year we have already exceeded 15,000. This is the best result in the last ten years, and it is due to the reform of the National Employment Agency, which the ministry initiated in 2023″.
The range of employment is very different and depends on the demand for labor and skills. One third of the jobs were provided by collective, social and personal services enterprises. About 15% of the jobs taken by job seekers were in industry and 13% in agriculture. Trade sector “took” 11% of workers, 10% went to construction, 4.9% – to public administration, 4.3% – to education; 4% – to health care and social services, 1.6% – found work in transportation and logistics.
