According to the data of the Ministry of Finance, the income part of the consolidated budget for 5 months was realized in the amount of 48,670.6 million lei, while the expenditure part – 54,279.9 million lei. At the end of May, the state budget revenues amounted to 29,518 million lei, of which 26.2 billion lei – taxes and fees, 1.8 billion lei – grants received, 1.6 billion lei – other revenues.
At the beginning of June, the actual state budget deficit has already reached 6.8 billion lei, which is 2 billion lei more than in the same period last year. The main sources of financing the deficit are internal sources and budgetary support from outside.
“The sources of deficit financing for the first five months of 2025 were: internal sources – 9,898.7 million lei, external sources – minus 3,709.5 million lei, change in cash balance – 641 million lei,” the Finance Ministry said.
We shall remind you that the execution of the state budget for 2024 ended with a deficit of about 13.1 billion lei. The planned state budget deficit for 2025 is 17.9 billion lei, which corresponds to 5.1 per cent of the GDP.
