
According to the analysis of Moldova Fruct Association, during four months of the current year the main buyers of Moldovan apples from CIS countries were Russia and Belarus – 28.8 thousand tons and 1.6 thousand tons respectively. During the same period, the largest buyer of this product in the European Union was expectedly Romania – 21 thousand tons. The share of the neighboring country in the total export of apples from Moldova increased to 37% (19% in January-April 2024).
Among European countries, the volume of Moldovan apples supplied to Great Britain more than doubled (up to 340 tons). The list of relatively large buyers of this product was rather unexpectedly supplemented by Ukraine (506 tons).
It is also noteworthy that during this period Moldova exported a significant amount of apples by sea. Thus, in January-April, shipments of Moldovan apples to Saudi Arabia exceeded 1.1 thousand tons.
