Dairy exports to the EU not yet open

Moldova is indeed not restricted by tariff barriers for the export of raw milk and dairy products to the European market. The relevant provisions are contained in agreements between Moldova and the EU, as well as with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).

However, there are non-tariff conditions for legalizing the supply of dairy products to the markets of these countries, which Moldova has not yet fulfilled. Therefore, there are no actual exports of these products to European markets at the moment.

This is how the Association of Milk and Dairy Products Producers Lapte commented for Logos Press on the Moldovan media reports that Moldova had received authorization to supply dairy products to the EU market.

At least, the export supplies are preceded by the message of the authorized structures of the European Union that the country has implemented the requirements of the EU regulation (2024/1170) and has obtained the right to export raw milk and dairy products to the European market.

Currently, from the range of livestock products, Moldova has the right to supply to the EU market some fish products, honey, poultry meat and chicken eggs of certain categories.
