A native of Calarasi district, 22-year-old Vera Zorya was represented in the discipline “Sport Sambo” in the weight category up to 54 kg. She shared the 3rd place with the representative of Russia Anastasia Polikarpova, who competed under a neutral flag.
The European Champion in this weight category was Tania Radulova from Bulgaria, the second step of the podium was taken by Cristina Blanaru from Romania.
Moldovan sambo wrestlers Veaceslav Plamediale, who came second in the Sport Sambo discipline, and Lucian Bray, bronze medalist in the Combat Sambo discipline, also won medals at the tournament.
