The platform envisions the creation of a network in which restaurants, wineries, cultural institutions, sommeliers, and tour guides will work together to offer consumers and tourists new ways to discover Moldovan wine, celebrating the region’s only wine festival.

The concept for the anniversary is centered around the number 25 and will bring together 25 restaurants, wineries, and cultural institutions, 25 “Wines of Moldova” ambassadors, and 25 anniversary events, as well as the promotion of wines with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status and local grape varieties.

Thus, the “Wine That Unites Us” platform will feature guided tastings, gastronomic dinners, special menus dedicated to National Wine Day, presentations of wines made from local grape varieties and those with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status, as well as cultural events dedicated to Moldovan wine.

The HoReCa sector will play an important role in the “Wine That Unites Us” platform, serving as a direct link between producers and consumers. Participating establishments will be able to celebrate the 25th anniversary of National Wine Day by promoting Moldovan wine in a gastronomic context, while wineries, in turn, will gain access to new opportunities for engaging with the public and consumers, product tastings, and collaboration with restaurants and sommeliers.

In addition, platform participants will benefit from promotion on the official “Wine of Moldova” channels, receive promotional materials, gain access to a network of sommeliers and experts, and enjoy institutional recognition. At the same time, the initiative aims to link local gastronomy with tourist itineraries and winery tours so that tourists can discover Moldovan wine in a wider variety of contexts.

Why is this necessary?

Ștefan Yamandi, director of the ONVV, explained: “In honor of the 25th anniversary of National Wine Day, we want to build on the idea at the heart of this celebration: Moldovan wine has the power to bring people together and strengthen our sense of national pride. Through this platform, we aim to further connect wineries with restaurants, sommeliers, tour guides, travel agencies, and cultural institutions, and turn this anniversary into an experience that can be enjoyed in as many restaurants as possible. “Wine That Unites Us” is an invitation to collaborate—under the umbrella of the national wine brand “Wine of Moldova. Surprisingly Good”—to create experiences that will allow people to discover our wines, understand them, and recommend them to others.”
