The discussions were attended by representatives of Fiba Group, CoreX, Franklin Templeton, and Esas Holding, as well as the textile companies Yeşim, Evkon, and Asena, which already provide approximately 1,500 jobs in Moldova, including in Gagauzia.
A separate topic of discussion was the development of the technology sector. Moldovan representatives met with the leadership of Bilişim Vadisi, a technology park in Turkey that brings together over 800 companies. Its experience could be leveraged in the development of the HiTech Park in Stăuceni.
Tofan urged Turkish companies to invest in Moldova, particularly in energy, technology, and export-oriented manufacturing, taking advantage of access to the European Union market.
“Moldova is open for business”—this was the main message the prime minister conveyed to Turkish businesspeople.
Trade between Moldova and Turkey already exceeds 1 billion euros. Chisinau aims to double this volume over the next 3–4 years by attracting new investments and expanding production capacity.
Previously, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Eugeniu Osmochescu and Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi visited Turkey. During the visit, they discussed opportunities for cooperation in the defense industry, including the production of military equipment and surveillance systems, as well as the development of defense technologies, drawing on the experience and potential of Turkish industry in this field.
