This was reported by the Chisinau City Hall. The competition took place on August 15. The European Junior Triathlon Cup—Chisinau 2026—is an international competition for young athletes, held in the capital in accordance with World Triathlon standards.
Hosting a competition of this scale in Chisinau demonstrates the city’s ability to host international sporting events and provide the necessary conditions for young athletes to compete, city officials emphasize.
The event took place at La Izvor Park in the capital and brought together more than 400 junior athletes from 35 countries, giving participants the opportunity to compete on the international stage and demonstrate a high level of athletic training.
As part of the competition, the young athletes completed the three stages of a triathlon: a 400-meter swim, a 10.22-kilometer bike ride, and a 2.42-kilometer run. The course put the participants’ speed, physical endurance, and ability to concentrate to the test, as each one strove to achieve the best possible result at the finish line.
The Chisinau City Hall supports the development of sports and invests in infrastructure and the organization of sporting events, providing sports enthusiasts with opportunities for growth and improvement.
