Ukraine’s Minister of Agrarian Policy, Taras Vysotsky, made this statement during a media briefing. “So far, this transit capacity is only just beginning to be utilized. If we reach that volume of shipments, then we’ll take it from there. But this may be difficult because there are certain restrictions on the other side,” Latifundist quotes the minister as saying.
Earlier, Logos Press reported that the potential volume of such cargo shipments is about 600,000 metric tons. “CFM will organize transit freight shipments based on the actual capacity of the infrastructure, the availability of rolling stock, train schedules, and orders from Moldovan exporters. The Ministry is constantly monitoring this data, and the mechanism will be adjusted in the event of delays or pressure on national exports. The interests of Moldovan farmers and exporters are a prerequisite for the mechanism’s operation, not an issue we will analyze only after problems arise,” the ministry stated in a release on this matter.
