City Hall and other stakeholders presented the development plan for this large-scale project in the presence of Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.
The head of the executive branch praised the contribution of the teams that worked on developing the concept and emphasized that the park has every chance of becoming an important innovation hub for Moldova. The Prime Minister noted that the state’s role is to create the necessary conditions for launching such initiatives and to facilitate the attraction of investors.
“I thank the visionary people who proposed such a large-scale idea, especially considering that it can benefit all Moldovans. I also thank Steaua Mayor Alexandru Vornic for supporting this project. A platform of this scale can radically transform our country’s development and create new opportunities for people and the economy. To turn this vision into reality, we must choose the right model for its implementation. The state must focus on its most important role: creating the necessary conditions, ensuring predictability and infrastructure, and paving the way for investment. And where the private sector has the capital, experience, and capabilities to carry out tasks more effectively, we must know how to attract it and provide it with the necessary space for investment and development,” said Prime Minister Vasile Tofan.
According to the master plan, the Moldova HiTech Park will feature facilities for companies and research centers, laboratories, spaces for developing digital solutions, and the future national data center. At least 40% of the territory will be set aside for green spaces.
The project also calls for the modernization of access infrastructure. In this regard, a technical solution is being developed for an interchange on Highway P6, which will connect the site to the future Bukovina Boulevard and facilitate access to the park. This will be the first three-level interchange in the Republic of Moldova.
At the same time, technical and financial preparations for the plan are continuing, including discussions with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The proposed plan will be submitted for public consultation, organized by the Steaua City Hall, and will serve as the basis for the development of the urban zoning plan.
