Approximately 62 million lei of the total amount was allocated to the “Cancer Patient” program. Approximately 8,500 medical services were provided under the program. Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were in the highest demand.
To provide high-tech medical services in 2026, the National Health Insurance Company (CNAM) entered into contracts with 102 providers. These include 16 national, 10 municipal, 44 district, and 32 private medical institutions.
High-tech medical services include diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed using modern medical equipment. The list of these services is set forth in Appendix No. 5 to the Unified Compulsory Health Insurance Program.
Services are provided free of charge to insured individuals subject to the established appointment conditions and, depending on the situation, based on a referral issued by a family doctor or a specialist. In the event of hospitalization, high-tech diagnostic tests are performed free of charge as prescribed by the attending or consulting physician.
