The camp will provide young people from Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, and Serbia the opportunity to practice French, learn about other cultures, and build connections with peers from the region.
The camp program includes educational, cultural, and interactive activities designed to develop communication skills in French, creativity, collaboration, and intercultural dialogue.
Practical Knowledge and Opportunities
The Ministry of Education and Research, as the organizer of the International Francophone Camp, aims to create more opportunities for students to apply the knowledge they have acquired in school to real-life situations. In addition, the event is designed to strengthen ties between the Republic of Moldova’s education system and the international Francophone educational community.
“A foreign language is truly mastered when you begin to use it to communicate and to discover new people and ideas. This camp offers students exactly that kind of experience. Over the course of the week, the French language becomes a tool for them to make friends, learn about other cultures, and see that the knowledge they’ve gained in school opens up opportunities far beyond the classroom. “We are delighted that this year the Republic of Moldova is hosting young people and teachers from across the French-speaking region,” said Galina Rusu, Secretary General of the IOF.
The camp program also includes activities designed for teachers. They have the opportunity to exchange experiences and discover new ways to teach French in a more engaging and student-friendly manner.
The Republic of Moldova has previously hosted international Francophone camps: In 2016, 35 young people from Francophone countries in the region participated in a similar event.
