During the first part of the festival, participants can look forward to interactive events and workshops on democracy and civic engagement, non-formal education, art, and creativity. There will also be information booths offering details on economic and educational opportunities, development programs, and services for young people. Rest areas will be set up for participants. In the evening, the program will continue with live music performances and DJ sets.
The festival will take place on August 15. It is organized by the National Youth Council with support from the Ministry of Education and Research, the National Agency for Youth Affairs, and international partners.
Nearly one in three young people is neither working nor studying
The event is taking place against the backdrop of persistent demographic and socioeconomic challenges facing young people. As of early 2025, young people aged 14–34 accounted for 22.8% of Moldova’s population—544,000 people. Over the course of the year, their number decreased by 23,700 people, or 4.2%.
Employment remains one of the main challenges. In 2025, there were an average of 139,100 young people aged 15–34 in the country who were neither working nor studying. They accounted for 27.9% of all young people in this age group.
In the 2025–26 school year, there were 334,600 students enrolled in Moldovan schools. There were 14,000 students in vocational schools, 21,900 in colleges, 14,400 in centers of excellence, and 62,900 students in institutions of higher education.
The average disposable income per person under the age of 30 in 2025 was 8,584.8 lei per month. At the same time, financial support from parents remains an important source of income for young people.
