“Yes, this is an important date, and we want to begin the celebrations with a military parade. If we’re talking about the fact that we’ve recently invested in strengthening the Republic of Moldova’s defense system—mainly through foreign support, but also using certain domestic resources—it’s because peace is the most important thing, and the safety of our citizens is our top priority,” Sandu stated.
She invited everyone interested to come and watch the parade, which will be on a larger scale this year.
“But I also think it’s important to show people what we’re doing in the area of defense and that they have this opportunity, because it’s not possible to take people on tours of the Ministry of Defense. This is a chance to show how we’ve strengthened our defense system to increase our chances of preserving peace,” — added Maia Sandu.
Following the military parade, a concert featuring local artists will take place in the center of the capital. The authorities invite citizens to participate in the events dedicated to Independence Day.
