A Member of the European Parliament criticized the political situation in Moldova, calling the country a “pseudo-republic” and stating that it is part of Romania.
According to Dumitru Roibu, such statements constitute a direct attack on Moldova’s statehood and must not go unanswered. At the same time, he believes that PAS bears political responsibility for giving ammunition to those who promote such ideas.
The politician emphasized that the statements made in the European Parliament demonstrate just how dangerous the consequences of governance can be—governance that, in his view, undermines trust in state institutions.
“It is unacceptable for statements questioning Moldova’s very existence to be made in a European institution,” said Dumitru Roibu. “Equally serious is the fact that the current government, through its own actions and failures, is providing political ammunition to those who promote such arguments.”
