“Many European countries are discussing the imminent introduction of a digital services tax on U.S. companies. Some of these countries are already close to making such a decision. Let this statement serve as a warning: any country that imposes such a tax will immediately face 100-percent tariffs on all goods shipped to the United States,” the U.S. president said.

According to Trump, these tariffs will take precedence over any trade agreements with that country—regardless of whether they have entered into force, been signed, or not.

Furthermore, if such countries do decide to impose this tax, 100-percent tariffs will be imposed immediately, Trump added.
