The document provides for a reduction in both the number of jurisdictions that provide information to the competent authorities of Moldova, as well as the number of reporting jurisdictions to which Moldova itself provides relevant information under the Multilateral Agreement on the Automatic Exchange of Financial Account Information.
According to the draft, amendments are also being made to the two annexes to this order, which contain lists of jurisdictions that exchange information. Both lists will be shorter than the current ones.
Thus, the list of participating countries that provide Moldova with financial account data will include 82 jurisdictions instead of the 118 currently listed.
The second annex to the order, containing the list of reporting jurisdictions to which Moldova sends information, will be reduced from 110 countries to 73.
According to the law, the State Tax Service is the competent authority for implementing the automatic exchange of financial account information. This information is transmitted no later than September 30 of the calendar year following the year to which it relates.
If necessary, the State Tax Service submits a request to the Ministry of Finance to adjust the lists of participating and reporting jurisdictions.
