According to the Ministry of Energy, under the project, financed by the EIB in the amount of 143.5 million euros, more than 2,500 individual heating points will be installed, another 1,665 residential buildings will be converted to a horizontal heat distribution system, and 57 buildings will undergo thermal insulation and reconstruction of primary heating networks. Two heat pump stations will be built at the same time.
According to preliminary estimates, the implementation of these measures will save about 4,600 MWh of primary energy over 20 years, reduce CO₂ emissions by about 816 thousand tons, and significantly improve the energy efficiency of services provided to end consumers.
The central element of the project is the introduction of individual heat consumption metering systems. This will provide residents with an opportunity to control heat consumption depending on the specific needs of each house.
It is expected that more than 300 thousand houses in Chisinau will be connected to this system.
