The Spanish team maintained control of the game and virtually prevented the French from creating any serious scoring chances in front of their goal.
The scoring opened in the first half: Mikel Oyarzabal converted a penalty kick awarded after a foul on Lamine Yamal. After the break, Pedro Porro extended Spain’s lead by finishing off a well-executed play following a pass from Dani Olmo.
France, whose lineup included Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, and Michael Olise, controlled possession during certain stretches of the match but was unable to break through their opponent’s organized defense. Spain once again demonstrated solid defensive play, reaffirming its status as one of the most balanced teams in the tournament.
The victory sent Spain to the World Cup final—its first since 2010. In the final, Spain will face the winner of the second semifinal between England and Argentina. France will play in the third-place match.
The Spanish national team continues its impressive unbeaten streak and remains one of the top contenders for the World Cup title.
