Bronze Label certificates were awarded to the Trade Honey Group beekeeping cluster, the Riviera Nistrului tourism cluster, the Legumicol Nistrul de Jos vegetable-growing cluster, the Golden Grapes Logistics viticulture cluster and the Fresh Fruit North fruit and vegetable cluster.
The award ceremony took place during the 2nd National Cluster Forum. It was attended by representatives of associations from Moldova, Ukraine and other European countries, as well as government bodies, the business sector, universities and research institutions.
To date, 15 Moldovan clusters have undergone assessment by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis (ESCA). One of them received a silver certificate and 14 received bronze certificates.
Over the past year, the turnover of companies within the clusters has grown by more than 10 per cent. They provide 700 jobs and have improved working conditions for a further 200 employees, as well as developing or beginning to develop more than 10 new products and services.
Since 2019, UNDP, in partnership with the European Union, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, has helped establish 21 clusters on both banks of the Dniester, bringing together more than 220 companies and organisations.
