According to Musk, the parties managed to achieve “a lot of good things” during the meeting. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang also praised the talks, CNN reports.
“The meetings went well. Mr. Xi and President Trump were great,” Huang told reporters.
Apple CEO Tim Cook declined to comment, but, as CNN notes, showed reporters a peace sign and gave a thumbs up.
Note that Trump arrived in Beijing on May 13 with a three-day visit. The U.S. delegation included Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Trade Representative Jamison Greer, as well as the heads of 17 major U.S. companies, including Musk, Huang and Cook.
This is the first visit by an American president to China in nine years. Trump’s previous trip to the PRC took place in 2017.
