Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine have signed a joint declaration on combating cross-border crime

Today, June 10, the border authorities of the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine signed a Joint Declaration on Cooperation in the Fight Against Transnational Crime.

The document was signed during a ceremony marking the 34th anniversary of the Border Police of the Republic of Moldova.

In the declaration, the three countries commit to strengthening cooperation in the exchange of operational information, combating drug trafficking, preventing the smuggling of weapons and ammunition, countering illegal migration and human trafficking, and combating smuggling.

The agreement also obligates the parties to organize joint exercises and harmonize operational procedures to improve the effectiveness of responses to security threats affecting the region’s borders.
