Madonna and Shakira will sing to the audience at halftime of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final

The FIFA World Cup is increasingly becoming not only the main tournament for soccer players, but also a prestigious arena for performances by show business stars. On the eve of the championship, the interest in the cultural program is sometimes even higher than in the main actors of soccer battles.

The organizers are fueling this interest by constantly throwing in information about the star artists who will perform at the stadiums of the World Cup 2026. Logos Press reported that there will be as many as three opening ceremonies at the upcoming tournament, and stars will perform at each of them. In the U.S., it will be pop singer, American Idol jury member and UN Goodwill Ambassador Katy Perry. In Canada, the attention of the public will be drawn to the winner of 5 Grammy Awards Michael Bublé. And in Mexico, the opening ceremony will be graced by 4 Grammy Award-winning pop-rock band Mana.

Surprise for the spectators of the final match

On May 13, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) pleased soccer fans with another surprise. American singer Madonna, Colombian singer Shakira and Korean band BTS will perform at halftime of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, FIFA announced.

The artists will perform together at halftime of the game on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The show will be curated by the lead singer of British rock band Coldplay Chris Martin, Sport-Express reports.

The halftime show is also aimed at raising money for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which was created to facilitate access to quality education and soccer for children around the world.

FIFA first introduced the concept of a halftime show during the final match of a major tournament last year at the Club World Cup, featuring Jay Balvin, Doja Cat and Tems.

The World Championship will kick off on June 11. Matches will be held in stadiums in the United States, as well as Canada and Mexico.
