The restrictions go into effect on May 16, 2026 and will be phased in by mode of transport and product, Forbes writes.

According to the document, the ban is imposed for a period of six months. A complete ban on the export of gasoline, diesel fuel and other fuels and lubricants from Kazakhstan also applies to the EAEU member states.

Despite the strict measures, there are a number of exceptions. Restrictions do not apply to certain types of lubricating oils, fuel as humanitarian aid and research components.
