Svetlana Cerović, IMF Resident Representative in Moldova, made the following statement today:
“An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission led by Alina Iancu will visit Moldova from May 7 to 20, 2026. The mission will hold discussions with the authorities in response to a request for a new arrangement under the Policy Coordination Instrument.
IMF experts will analyze recent economic developments, update the assessment of macroeconomic prospects and risks, and discuss policy and reform priorities with the authorities and other key stakeholders.
The Policy Coordination Tool is a nonfinancial instrument available to all IMF member countries. It allows for a closer dialog with countries and ensures IMF support for economic policy measures. It enables countries to demonstrate commitment to reforms and mobilize financing from other sources.
