In today’s statement, the organization notes that “an increasing number of farmers from various regions report that, in addition to a sharp rise in diesel fuel prices, they are facing an increasingly acute fuel shortage. We have received reports that some energy suppliers working with farmers have not delivered diesel fuel for the past 5–7 days and cannot say for certain when it will arrive.”
“This crisis is hitting agricultural producers harder and harder, as they are in the midst of harvesting and preparing the land for the summer-fall planting season. A disruption to the agricultural campaign threatens to further exacerbate the situation in agriculture,” reads the statement from Forța Fermierilor. “In this regard, the association is requesting urgent clarification and intervention from a number of competent authorities, such as ANRE, the Competition Council, and the government.”
