“After discussing and presenting a number of arguments, the minister accepted the strategic demands of the association, such as: providing farmers with direct payments (targeted subsidies) per hectare of cereals and oilseeds from 2027 onwards; 100 percent reimbursement of excise duties on diesel for agricultural work from 2026 onwards; avoiding an increase in the tax burden on farmers after the VAT increase to 20 percent,” Forța Fermierilor claimed in today’s report.”
At the same time, according to the report, MAIA Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Ludmila Catlabuga requested time until June 15 – to implement some aspects related to the fulfillment of Forța Fermierilor’s demands, as well as for additional discussions on the situation with the Minister of Finance.
“Our organization welcomes the Minister’s position and reiterates its willingness to continue the dialogue to protect the interests of micro, small and medium-sized farmers in rural areas,” expresses the hope for a future compromise and peaceful outcome of Forța Fermierilor.

However, farmers intend to “keep their powder dry”. Accordingly, “the Council of the Association unanimously decided to intensify the information activities of farmers in the territory and to prepare the organization for protests, including those modeled on the protests of European farmers.”
